Monway Woodfuel are suppliers of sustainable and certified wood fuel products aiming to deliver you the best quality and value for money possible. We are a small team that always strives to provide excellent communication and service to our customers, from the point of order through to delivery of goods, while also trying to be flexible and cater to individual needs wherever we can.
Delivery, collection and supply
We supply our firewood logs in either vented bulk bags measuring 90cm x 90cm x 90cm (0.729 m3) or smaller nets that are more suitable for handling. Our kindling is packaged in cardboard boxes measuring 35cm x 25cm x 30.5cm. Goods can either be collected in person or delivered locally, generally free of charge, unless a combination of order value and distance make it unfeasible without a carriage fee being applied.
Deliveries are now carried out using a smaller 3.5t vehicle that is much more accessible than the 7.5t craned truck we previously used. We offload using a combination of crane arm and trolley (where necessary) and do our best to position the goods as close to the desired location as possible but this can’t always be guaranteed.
Our firewood products listed below are all Ready to Burn certified so you can be confident that you are purchasing a quality and compliant product with a moisture content of below 20% and ready for immediate use.
‘Monway’ logs
‘Monway’ logs are the most popular firewood product we supply. They are our own version of kiln-dried softwood logs that are produced at our sawmill from the side cut of the sawlog when producing timber. The logs are uniform in appearance with a thickness of roughly 3” square and cut in length to approximately 9-10” which are ideally suited to most log burners. We find using Monway logs for a high heat output before introducing hardwood logs for a slower burn is the perfect combination and produces the best results. Hardwood logs
The main species we use for our kiln-dried hardwood logs is Ash, a species that is a favourite for customers who want a clean burn with minimal smoke along with a slow and consistent burn. As mentioned above, blending hardwood with our Monway logs to gain an initial high heat output is a perfect combination and produces the best results. From time to time, we may also supply other species of hardwood such as Oak and Birch which are also very good options for log burners. Priced at £150.00 per vented bulk bag (90x90x90).
Kindling
Supplied in cardboard boxes (35cm x 25cm x 30.5cm) weighing up to 5kg, our certified, kiln dried kindling is cut to approximately 9-10” in length and is the perfect way to get your fire going! Priced at £6.00 per box.
Biomass Suppliers List (BSL)
As we are an approved producer-trader on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL), we can supply wood fuel products that meet the eligibility requirements for domestic and non-domestic customers who are on the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.
We offer Ready to Burn firewood and kindling so customers can be confident that the wood fuel purchased from us is certified and legal. Under the new Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020 that now apply in England, wood fuel sold in volumes under 2m3 must be certified as Ready to Burn. The regulations aim to prevent harmful pollution from domestic burning of all solid fuels by ensuring wood sold in volumes of under 2m3 is certified as having a moisture content of 20% or less.
